Rohilkhand University Cultural Centre Shines Again in UP Assembly Youth Parliament

Bareilly: The Cultural Centre of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University delivered an impressive performance for the second consecutive time at the state-level Youth Parliament Competition organization in the Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Sabha.

The three-day event, held from May 1 to 3, 2026, was organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in collaboration with MY Bharat. Representing Bareilly district, current student Deepanshu Deep, and representing Shahjahanpur, alumna Swarnima Gupta, captivated the assembly with their articulate speeches on the theme “Budget 2026: Role of Youth in Developed India @ 2047.”

The event was graced by prominent dignitaries, including Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana, Legislative Council Chairman Kunwar Manvendra Pratap Singh, and Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna, along with other senior ministers and officials.

Deepanshu Deep drew widespread appreciation for his logical and impactful arguments, earning resounding applause from the House. Both participants elaborated on the Union Budget’s vision and underscored the critical role of youth in achieving the goal of a developed India by 2047. Their speeches also echoed the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, emphasizing the adoption of constitutional values and active participation in nation-building.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.P. Singh congratulated the participants, calling it a proud moment for the university. He highlighted their strong grasp of parliamentary traditions and confident articulation of contemporary issues.

Cultural Coordinator Dr. Jyoti Pandey noted that Deepanshu had represented Bareilly in the Assembly last year as well, while Swarnima was selected for the first time. She praised both students for their eloquence, depth of understanding, and presentation skills, describing the Youth Parliament as a vital platform for personality development and leadership building.

University officials, including Registrar Harish Chand, Controller of Examinations Sanjeev Kumar Singh, faculty members, and Cultural Club participants, extended their congratulations and best wishes to the achievers.
